“Spy Mistress” is a fascinating book about a woman who faced incredible odds but overcame them all. William Stephenson’s book is a must read. The way he describes how Vera Maria Rosenberg became “Vera Atkins” is amazing. Stephenson intertwines details meticulously that gives the reader specific information about how Vera Atkins accomplished her missions as the “Perfect Spy”. I couldn’t put the book down because of how well written it is. If you’re interested in “Female Spies” like I am, this book is for you. Stephenson doesn’t forget to mention other great female spies in this book such as Odette Samson or my favorite, Virginia Hall. Without the dedication, determination and discipline to do their jobs, WW II may have turned out differently. Read this book!
