This is a great TV show on so many levels. It covers so many aspects of our lives on truly real levels; aging and romance, same sex couple living and loving, and then heterosexual living and love. I love the way the writer reversed the typical thinking image of the gay and straight females ( Caroline & Gillian). The strong woman(Gillian) who is very handy around her farm including being a mechanic is very comfortable in her skin as being straight and the glamorous stylish school leader(Caroline) is the gay person. Although I loved the show, I was very disappointed and saddened that Kate was killed off in the third season. As an African American gay female myself and the former principal of a public school, I truly connected with the relationship of Caroline & Kate. I only hope that if there is a season 5, we will see Caroline live out her happily ever after life with her daughter and new partner/ wife.
