Definitely one of my favorite M. Night films. Fairly straightforward, but enjoyable. No wild twists, but that was for the best as the looming "decision" created plenty of tension in the air. The negative reviews seem odd because they either see this as religious propaganda or they're offended by the single-sex family. Yes, the movie is a play on the concept of the four horsemen. That's about it. It makes no mention of any specific god or religious text. Not sure why that is offensive to some. Either way, as long as you're an adult who isn't offended by silly things, you will probably enjoy this movie.
