Just watched, for some light entertainment wow omg!. A genius series that I believe could be used as a case study representing today's emergence of unappealing societal behaviours, such as materialism, expectation, arrogance, perfection, pettiness, trust, not omitting the evident emergence of house sitting...... Sounding a bit serious, well it isn't, really it makes you laugh and utter a few oh no's, its funny. On the surface simple comedy in a more toned-down Rowan, purposeful for the effect of reality (clever), but beneath the superficial layer of meaning the cake gets deeper revealing distasteful aspects of accepted norms presented in a whimsical style. A unique, sequence of subliminal messages we can acknowledge or leave, a mastery of the subtle unraveling of elements interfering with modern life. There are many positives of course but here we can pick up some reasons and underlying clues causing dissatisfaction and imbalances in society today such as the number of people on antidepressants, mental health issues, lack of peace, and squewed values… only for those interested of course. It's like the launch of wall-ready Tate art on Happiness - a series of video installation art. Our choice to deem truths or leave for others. Perhaps I am taking it a bit too seriously nah, of course it s fun too. If you take the performance on face value you ll enjoy a smirk and possibly utter ridicule or view this art as an observer removing the veil of an era of sonic bat-like habits in a kind of modern, dare to point out, Dante existence (only if you're a pessimist of course). So many adjectives touching on materialism, dissatisfaction, gratitude, compassion, forgiveness, revenge, trust, mental health, materialism, integrity, love, kindness, loneliness, remorse, lies, greed, deceit, usery, disconnection, peace, reliance on computers being an extenion of ourselves Marshal McLuhan, its all there. A masterpiece. Rowan I think you re a true innovator, shapeshifter, and communicator, what more can one individual do? I hope this leads to more of this kind of art, reflection, and the emergence of divergent thinking for the benefit of some neglected aspects of humanity that have risen way above the sea level. I enjoyed how you have made invisible distasteful actions of life visible like focusing on the trivial and how the production illustrated how enough is never enough. Understated transparency like this is refreshing thank you
