TLDR: This movie is so bad, it should come with a surgeon general warning. I would describe the movie as what felt like a 45min movie trailer for a early 2000s scifi / IFC mashup. Someone skimmed through the book taking bad notes. The notes were then given to someone who then skimmed them and started shooting the "movie". There was no character development, substance and zero impact. The best part of the movie was when the credits finally rolled.

The story is weakly based on locusts and they only show them in passing. It lacks any sense of atmosphere which I attribute to two things. 1.) Every shot seems to be a close up of the actors face. 2.) They use heroic music and poses frivolously. Example: When being chased by "the largest carnivore to ever walk the earth" the woman's leg gets caught in a rope and she is pulled to it. Is this really how you showcase the danger of such a creature? This rope is how you create the danger?
