This book was completely different from what I expected. Can't be very sure whether it falls in more good or bad category but there are alot of loopholes and sometimes it felt the plot was all over the place. There were few interesting scenes too but as compared to fourth wing I'm a little disappointed in this. Violet's character felt like she has bipolar disorder. Sometimes she was drowning in self-misery then a moment later she turned heroic. And as for Xaden.. HE'S WHOLE CHARACTER WAS CHANGED. The Xander from Fourth wing and Iron flame are completely different persons and u can't change my mind. Giving it a three stars coz I really loved knowing Tairn and Andarna in more depth and their relationship with Violet. The friendship between the iron squard. The regrowth of sorrengail siblings' relationship The involvement with the gryphons was also a good addition but there were so many better ways the book could've gone. Hope the next books won't disappoint
