Maybe don't have a baby in a dying world?
Maybe buy lots of non-perishible food when things start looking dire?
If you live on an island and don't have food, maybe go to the coast and fish and eat clams, mussels, and oysters?
Pacing is too slow. Not enough happens. Too low budget, so it tells and doesn't show
Definitely not Children of Men, but nothing is
