It's a dark disturbing film of true events . The acting is perfect . The only saving grace is in the end the caught Christie and dealt with him The way the courts dealt with a man with a mental age of 10 is so awful to watch . This case amongst others finally led to the end of capital punishment . Both main actors are superb . Its a dark classic that is a tough watch as all true . Evans was given a posthumous pardon years later found to be totally innocent of the double murder . Christie was a serial killer with genius iq and very dangerous . He even pretended to cry in court when Evans was mistakenly found guilty .
