The actors play it straight. The cinematography is exquisite. The absurd is pre-eminent. A must-watch.
I wonder if someone from India hasn't "borrowed" it yet - so relevant for the country and the times.
But then again, the dry and dusty locale has so much to do with the story of dry and dusty beliefs of dry and dusty souls. Even a hint of green will destroy the delightfully droll narrative. Unless it's a solitary wishing tree. Perhaps the rain, after a decade, will appease parched emotions.
