This book is not “1000 places to see before you die”, it’s more like “1000 mediocre places that I have been and a couple nice spots too”. It has a heavy focus on the US and the UK, and even includes random tiny villages. On the other hand it only allots a few pages for each Asian country which is completely disproportional to the actual number of points of interest there are. I would have rather had the author wait a few years and visit more places before making the broad sweeping claim that there are 15 more pages worth of irrelevant things to do in the American southwest than entire countries.
