I've never really been into FNAF, its kind of just been there and I've never looked into it. But OH MY GOSH!! This movie was something else!!! As a person who didn't know any off the lore or background information, this movie was easy to follow and understand and didn't rely on background information to be understood. As a Film student, the filmmakers have done incredible job! Every shot was well thought out, the lighting was exceptional, especially in the pizzeria, the props/mise-en-scene/hidden lore was created with care. But most of all THE SOUND DESGIN!! It had me on the edge of my seat i.e. hiding in my friends shoulder the whole time.
Now, I'm no fan off horror, some might call me a scaredy cat (they'd be absolutely correct) but this movie didn't bluntly scare me, it built that horror element so well that I could feel the terror in me TO THE BONE throughout the whole movie, but in a classy way through phycological fear and emotional connections to characters... but mostly the animatronics... THEIR SILLY LITTLE FACES ARE THE CREEPIEST THINGS EVER I SWEAR (their watching me type this somewhere trust ;-;). As a matter of fact, Foxy jumps scares make me want to scream and cry frantically in the corner of my room, but anyways.
Go see it, the actors are great (so proud of MatPat <3), absolute film masterpiece (I really need to go watch more from the director and just film in general), so happy to finally truly discover FNAF (I am now paranoid af, how do you guys play those games and like it, you guys are crazy), and if you do watch it and don't like it, which I'm sure you won't..... cry about it...
But what do I know, Ok bye!
