NO SPOILERS! I saw that Joker: Folie à Deux was ripped to shreds on TikTok and most reviews. All it did was make me want to see it. I figured the people that praised all the horrible Marvel movies and shows are the ones writing the bad reviews for Joker 2. The tone for this sequel is the same tone as the original. If you are looking for a crowd pleasing comic book movie, you will be deeply disappointed. If you are looking for a follow up to the intense psychological thriller, Joker, you came to the right place. Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga were perfect in their roles. I knew it was a musical, but it’s not like you’re watching Chicago, it all makes sense within the context of the story. As I was watching it, I thought, “why do people hate this?”. There were times I laughed out loud at the subtle jokes made. I thought it was a great sequel, not as good as the original, but still on pace. I didn’t hate the ending, not sure how it doesn’t make sense to people. It ended the way it should have. 4 out of 5 easily.

Spoiler free: Absolutely phenomenal! Jonathan Majors was the most menacing villain in the series. You feel for him, and then you hate him, but then you feel for him again. It’s an emotional battle! Michal B Jordan was amazing as always and as a director as well, wow! The first 90 minutes has such an amazing pace and build up, the last 30 felt a little rushed, otherwise this is 5 stars to me all day. I felt like an additional 5-10 minutes before the fight or training montage of the animosity between them would have been perfect, but what do I know. Easily one of the craziest fight scenes in any boxing movie, full anime on display. These camera angles made me feel like I was in the ring. I was dodging and waving in my seat! Missed Rocky in it, even a small cameo, but I get it, the Creed universe had to stand on its own. Hope we get a part 4 soon! Go watch this in imax, it’s next level!

(Spoiler free) I really debated on 1 or 2 stars, but the amount of times I said “this is so stupid…” while I was watching it, made me settle for the 1 star rating. I thought the opening was pretty good to be honest, and I had high hopes, but by the 17 minute mark I think I called the movie “stupid” 3 times already. The plot is horrible, the scenes and dialogue are corny, the Quantum realm was ridiculously dumb, and how they developed Cassie’s character was an eye roller (actress was great, but the path they took her down was lame). I disliked almost every supporting character outside of the core characters in the Quantum realm. I’m also not the target demographic for this movie thought, so I think kids will like this movie. Kang was the best part, but I also do think Paul Rudd is always solid as Ant-Man. They wasted the star power of Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer. MODOK was a waste and very jarring to look at. Lots of building for what’s next, but not enough good story telling. The MCU has not been the same since Endgame. Spider-Man: No Way Home has been the only great movie that has come out since. I get it, we are all stuck watching this to know what happens next, but it was not worth it. Watch it when it’s streaming on Disney+ save your money. Also, there are 2 end credit scenes.
