The Italian countryside and supporting cast carried this film. The plot and ending of the film are a giveaway within the first few minutes. Scott Foley plays a dorky dad and an improbable love interest to Francesca. Look to the supporting cast to rescue this tired film.

I can appreciate offbeat, parody, humorous takes, but Argylle is an absurd, meandering, hack of a film.

Ed Harris gives a stellar performance. This movie is more than the run-of-the-mill father/son reunited types. Definitely plays on emotion but the subject matter offers excellent food for reflection. I'm glad I watched it! I've thought about it often since I first saw it over a year ago.

I thought the book was fabulous! The subject matter could easily have become sappy and silly by a less talented writer's hand. The writer's care and handling of the most insignificant detail are magical.
The film did not disappoint, as do many novels turned into screenplays. Every scene between Robert and Francesca was palpable.
