It is quite dangerous to work along the highway even for a mower operator or landscaper,when you are preoccupied with very large heavy equipment it becomes even more difficult to keep watch on the adjacent traffic,much of which has little regard for the people working alongside the roadway.
These recovery workers put their lives on the line every time they go out on a job,and often during the rigging operation they have to turn their backs to the possible source of danger.
It appears to me that at least some of the wrecks occur because of driving too fast on slippery roads or even too fast on dry roads.
It would be well if more police activity could be dispatched to some of the situations where the wrecker operators have to be right next to a lane of traffic. Often the traffic just flies past with wanton disregard.
