The structure of the film is confusing. The major plot device is boring - the review of a request to renew Oppenheimer's security clearance years after the bomb. The background on Oppenheimer, the development of Los Alamos and the bomb, and his moral struggles with his creation was wonderfully done and fascinating - but that amounts to about 1 hr of this 3 hr film. The rest of it is oppressingly dry political maneuvering to discredit Oppenheimer by people I don't care about. It's way too long, inept as a biopic (I learned nothing new), and truly frustrating to watch.
