Initially I was thrown off by the conversational style of the book. I decided to stick with it and was rewarded with a great read. I felt at times it was over sharing and cringey in certain areas but, a full account as Harry sees it.
Harry is a man tormented by an archaic system that has upended this family generation after generation. I am hopeful that William will see a way forward for their families and children and possibly break the cycle so deeply ingrained in the Heir/Spare dynamic.
He adores his wife and they are truly soul mates. The vilification of Meg only reinforces old tropes placed on strong women in the royal family and is frankly quite a lazy storyline for “journalists” regurgitation.
Many families go through the exact same feelings of jealousy, complexities etc. and see a way forward. Unfortunately, Charles is a reckless narcissist wholly unsuited for the role of father and patriarch. Reconciliation may take much longer because of his lack.
