Excellent film that delves into the man behind the myth of Ferrari. Adam Driver does an excellent job of bringing Il Commendatore to life, adding humanity and tender emotion to the more famous tempestuousness, arrogance and brutal drive.
The film focuses on Enzo’s personal life in the runup to the ‘57 Mille Miglia- where the Brand was on the cusp of becoming the powerhouse we know today.
As always Michael Mann delivers superb visuals, and stunning backdrops upon which the story runs its course.
It is important to know the film is about the man, not the cars or racing- there are some appearances of classic Maseratis and Ferraris- and a smattering of racing here and there- but it is not the primary focus of the film.
I found the film about as accurate as big Hollywood can deliver, there are some inaccuracies- but overall- it was a most excellent adventure.
