I loathe this book and I'm not reading any more of Veronica Roth's work.
I think the first book was fantastic. It started to go downhill in Insurgent but this entire book was flat-out bad. The whole explanation for the world was flimsy and confusing and the ending failed to wrap up the story or give the readers any sense of closure or satisfaction. Honestly, I hated it. I thought it must be a mistake or something that was reversed in the end so I (reluctantly) finished the book. Once I was finished, I threw this book across the room and cried. I have no idea what you were thinking, Veronica, but (SPOILER!!!!) killing off the main character is a horrible way to end a book. The whole ending feels like it was put together last-minute, as if she didn't know what to do with the characters since the story was coming to a close and there wasn't anything else for them to do. It's a very "if she's dead, I don't have to figure out what to do with her" type of ending. I don't think that's where the story was leading towards, nor was it an adequate ending for any of the main characters. This whole book just made me mad. Don't read it.
