The writing is superior and the acting is top shelf. It is so much more compelling than the original series (which I loved, of course). It is on par with “Star Trek Discovery” and “Picard”. Some of the episodes, like episode 4 of the current season, are as close to a masterpiece as I have seen in any TV show or series.
