Was it a good movie? Probably not. Did I enjoy it. Very much. Considering the entire plot of the games are a series of sixty second fights to the death I dont see why people are trashing the lack of plot. The film delivers on a story thats fairly true to the game. Many movies these days are scene after scene of senseless violence. I felt the 2021 film did this very tastefully, leaving most of the most vulgar dismemberments to CGI monsters rather than 'real people'. The effects and costumes were pretty good. Most of the characters were immediately recognizable. This was probably the best newly released movie since the pandemic. Also. I found it HILARRIOUS when Coles daughter shouted 'USE THE UPPERCUT DAD!' Anyone who has every played mortal kombat at home has said or heard this from a backseat fighter.
