I first read the series, where the war between Good and Evil was so clearly defined, in 1966, while I was in the Army. There are not enough stars.

I have read many reviews of both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, most of which agreed with my feelings, some expressed better than I could, other not as well. I think the best review I can give is this, I am now in my sixth reading of the four books. Oh, and the best of all of Tolkien's stories is "Farmer Giles of Ham."
