I’m going to give this a 2. Mainly because it’s only black beauty by name. If this were a stand alone film this would have been a 3 because there’s many movies just like it. Now I’m not comparing it to the book or the 1994 version because of a few minor changes or a couple of scenes being removed. No I want you to imagine if How the grinch stole Christmas got another remake but instead of a grumpy green creature jealous of the whosville and in anger steals everyone’s things you instead its about a rich Who named Grinch who just loves Christmas but he’s competitive and is trying to get the BEST gift for everyone his family and in the process he steals the magic of Christmas by making everyone feel bad about not being able to afford gifts as expensive as his ( he’s been showing them off to everyone )but in the end the best gift was his niece Cindy Lou who adopts a little kitten she found in the snow and names him Max. That’s what Disneys version of Black Beauty felt like.
