Like the mark of many good books, this book immersed me immediately and I ended up reading all of it in a single sitting. Upon finishing I had the overwhelmingly profound sense of loss accompanied by my thoughts which up until this point had been silent and merely observing what I was consuming. In retrospect I feel very strongly about this story as I found that despite having a simple narrative and characters; they all felt so tangible and real in the way they were written and their motivations as well as how easy it was to understand. The story extrapolated on the lack thereof (in terms of complexity, description and background) by giving the reader a play
-by-play of what the main character is experiencing and feeling and I think this story does a brilliant job of depicting the situation from a sole perspective.
