As someone who is not into "woke" culture; this movie truly moved me. A lot of these reviews are saying the movie over sexualized MM, but thats what I think the director was trying to get across. She was the most undervalued most famous woman of her time.
This movie portrays what I think exactly how men viewed her, as a sex symbol and "meat." Women today do not understand this was a very real thing and this happened to so many women in the industry because it was the norm. I believe the director showing these graphic scenes is exactly what the public needs.
MM was so gorgeous, so insecure, and so lost in her life. Showing the trauma she most likely did endure does not demean her in any way. In my opinion it should make your gut churn that women have been treated this way throughout history no matter the social class.
10/10 would recommend watching with your daughter, because us women are finished being hopeless fools. I think MM believed she had to be a helpless fool to succeed.
