Donna McCarthy

This movie was very surprising and daring with its sex scenes. The actors portrayed a higher level of vulnerability and emotional intimacy than most movies ever acheive. The murder mystery plot was sort of like a framework that allowed the more important aspects of the movie to flourish; the relationships between the characters and the deep portrayals of complicated characters. I didn't need the mystery to wow me so much as for it to hold its own so the actors could give their all to each role. Meg Ryan, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Mark Ruffalo, and Kevin Bacon all gave fantastic performances.
