I don’t think I’ll be able to finish this book. Started off as an easy read with a few cringy moments here and there which always happens with rom com books. However, there are two main reasons I don’t like this book. Spoiler* First, I just can’t get over how “no” does not mean “no” in this book. The way Knox is always grabbing her arm and saying “that’s not a request”. Telling her to get in the car because “he’s not letting her bike home”. When he throws her over his shoulder when she’s wearing a skirt AT WORK. There is a huge power imbalance that gives me such an ick. Second, I lost all empathy in Knox when he ends the relationship that is going perfectly fine with no explanation and then gets mad at Naomi for trying to move on. Then, the author repeats the SAME thing (Knox is scared to commit) like five times from different characters making the book go on and on with no progress. I’m just so frustrated at this point, that I don’t even want them to get back together. Knox has been a dick literally all book (I don’t care if he goes to one or two of Waylays’s soccer games).
