A fascinating and gentle read. George knew a lot about Welsh mythology and Welsh poets and his enthusiasm comes across as the chapters unfold. He charts his walking journey throughout Wales, his interactions with the folk he meets, the sights he saw, well thought out vignettes, altogether with humour and a candid honesty.
If you love a travelogue, you may enjoy this Victorian version. There's snippets of interesting lore, a good dose of history and amazing scenery. Definitely worth taking the time to curl up with a nice mug of something hot and escape back to a different time.
