It is entertaining to watch, of course, being a mix of history and fantasy (martial arts by West African women). However, I seem not to understand why the producers didn't invest in getting the West African accent right. The accents throughout most of the movie were East African and South African. I come from the part of Africa being depicted here, born and raised there. My ancestors never had the kind of accents I heard in the movie. And we don't speak like that even now. In fact, in the king's court scene early in the movie, I heard about 4 or 5 different accents from people that were supposedly from the same tribe. So, to directors planning on doing this kind of movie in the future, just as you would invest in getting the accents correctly in your Wild Wild West movie, do the same for your African-setting movies.
