In the US, you have to watch it on Amazon Prime with an additional subscription to Acorn TV @ $ 5.99 a month.. I didn't read the book, which I believe is a.masterpiece, as it was too long a read. So, I was excited to discover it was made into a movie. The cast has been given careful consideration and the acting is superb. Mira Nair has done a good job with of portraying India during that era and the religious and political struggles that existed. Cannot say if the movie has digressed from the book.
