Used to Love it - One cashed up bloke buys three houses, and actually outbids himself twice, in his attempt to redeem his character after his outrageous bid on the 2022 Block. How is this in any way a reflection of the housing market? More importantly, it makes a mockery of the contestants' hard work. Channel nine has turned this show into a circus for wealthy egos. It was hard to watch the discrepancies between a 1.7 million profit and 65k profit. Awful. Not watching 2024. I'm done.

This show is truly a window into the world of perverse wealth and the pursuit of profit, every time, all the time. Now that we know how Erika's "glam" squad was funded it verges on grotesque. Still it's great entertainment, but at what ethical costs? Not sure if Bravo gets concerned. Each season there's a bankrupt, or ex-bankrupt, with the police not far away. These gals make the RHONJ look poor. The addition of Kathy Hilton, with her love of everything that costs a lot, add a personal butler and stir, is a genius stroke. She has at times a confused daze and answers in monotones whenever she's quizzed. Her reaction to "It's Hunky Dory" for instance, was "whose Hunky Dory"? Is she for real? Who knows? I'm expecting Kim Richards to appear at any moment dazed and addicted for the cameras to watch as she melts live on screen. It is cruel at times. I felt sorry for Kim in previous episodes. Still, we are addicted to the drama and the other worldly money fuelled environments these women live in.

I think Piers Morgan's critique of Harry and Meghan is excellent. We need critical engagement and not obsequious comments about H's and M's behaviour. One minute they want privacy and the next they're publicly whining about how misunderstood they are. Harry seems as if he is mentally ill and on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I am not convinced it is because of the Tabloids. If Harry is unwell then he should go have a rest and decide wether he actually wants to be a Royal, or follow in the footsteps of his great uncle and move OS and enjoy some anonymity. Undertaking a Royal tour of Africa, where some of the worst poverty and human abuses are occurring, and then turning around and telling the world how hard your lot is smacks of self promotion, narcissism and immaturity. Thanks Piers for keeping it real.

This is a truly beautiful film. Danny Robertshaw and Ron Danta rescue and rehome dogs. But this is no ordinary tale of a dog charity -- these two men do not take a salary from their good work and their home has been turned into a place where they co-habit with their rescue dogs. The incredible thing is they keep their premises spotless and the dogs are cared for in a way that is remarkable, dignified and full of genuine compassion. No dog hoarding here. Their wooden floors and oriental carpets were replaced with stone floors so that they can clean regularly, and everything has an ordered light-filled place. They make a living from training horses/riders to fund their bills - and there are many costs to pay, including industrial washers and dryers that churn all day as well as ongoing Vet bills and heart-worm treatments. They re-home their dogs at the horse shows they attend. So far they have saved over 11,000 dogs. This is a film all dog lovers and animal lovers should see. It is also a film that offers hope - in a world full of unscrupulous and uncaring puppy mill breeders, and kill shelters that shoulder the burden of the 6.5 million unwanted animals each year in the USA, this film offers us a glimpse into how we all might live with animals in a sustainable and compassionate way -- obviously it is not a story about individuals replicating Danny and Ron's remarkable work, but it is a story that shows us how we should treat dogs with respect and love, and that we should never, ever buy a puppy from a puppy mill, pet shop or Graigs list.
