As a very long time Dracula fan; I've been waiting years for this movie.
I saw this at an early press screening. No one liked it. I swear negative reviews are being deleted from social media.
This movie was probably made so Universal could retain some rights to the character.
It's a 6.5/10 on IMDb and a 51% on Rotten Tomatoes. And I think that's being generous.
It only made $6.5 million (opening weekend, dimestic)on a budget of $45 million.
I've seen plenty of commercials for it. Every single one showed far to much of the creature. Always a sign that the studio has no faith in a project.
This movie was the worst thing a movie can be. Boring. The characters were comedically dumb and predictable. There was no sense of dread and only a handful of ineffective jump scares. The king of vampires was reduced to a watered-down xenomorph rip off. The BBC/ Netflix Dracula did a far more entertaining take on the ill-fated voyage.
