I read the first 117 pages, and just couldn't get into it. I like Kim's Hollows series, but this story just didnt interest me.

I just discovered this book and was initially intrigued because of who the author is. I read a lot of crime/thriller/mystery novels but hadn't seen these until recently. I'm nearly finished with The Cuckoo's Calling and am not very excited by it. I'm a little puzzled at all the fawning reviews from book critics. It reminds me of a British TV series... little movement in the plot and lots and lots of extended dialogue. Moves very slowly. Several times I had to flip back to remember who a certain character was and why they were included in the story. I felt like it dragged without really making any progress in the story.
