Final fantasy 7 remake, another masterpiece from my childhood favourite video game series. Overally, the graphics are amazing, the gameplay still stick to its roots, but with apparent mix of modern feature, hence providing a unique gameplay experience to their fans.
The characters, on the other hand, are soooo beautiful, I am literally in love with Aerith (purely subjective). Cloud is so cool in the game, along with other characters. There are some changes to the story line than the original 1997 game, but the key elements like shinra, mako, materia... stays loyal to its roots. Anyway, both versions are thrilling rides.
If you play on normal difficulty, the difficulty is in the right amount. It will not be a walk in the park, as some bosses requires some strategies to tackle, but you will not have too much frustration. The hard difficulty, on the other hand, is the real deal. You really need to plan your game from the start, collect all the materias (power-up materials) from your previous playthrough to make the game "playable". However, I will recommend playing on hard difficulty for those players who longs for merciless experience and the peerless satisfaction, like me.
The combat mechanics requires A LOT OF strategies and thinking, instead of just flinging your sword and covering your face with a shield. You need to equip different materias, outfits, and weapons. You also need to arrange your squad, where you need to equip limited materia and abilities to your squad members to achieve maximum potential, or else you cannot beat some bosses in the game. You also need to think "in combat", where your character should go, as you can control all of them during combat mode. I personally faced some challenges here, especially during my hard playthough.
Anyway, I strongly recommend to give this game a try, you will not dissapoint. P.S. Don't skip the cinematics, every single one is classical and epic.
