This movie was awful. I mean, it's about a woman named Lily Bloom who opens a flower shop. Ugg. I've never read the book but I wouldn't be inclined to after this mess. They took a very serious subject and turned it into a romcom. Blake Lively isn't a strong enough actor to carry a movie about domestic violence. Maybe that's why she wears such ridiculous costumes and gigantic wigs, to distract from her acting. But the real crime of this movie was how easy and uncomplicated they made it seem for a woman to walk away from an abusive husband. The writers clearly have no real understanding of domestic violence and the most important parts of the story were glossed over for the sake of a feel good ending. I can't believe people are giving this 5 stars.
