This movie certainly deserved the Oscars received. However, this movie fell far from the tree from Black Panther. The racial overtones of the white Western World wanting to loot black Wakanda of resources was impossible not to miss.
The violence in the movie, however, mainly came when the new underwater non white threat to Wakanda attacked the Western attempts to peaceful mine for the resources Wakanda has a monopoly on. The false flag operation framed Wakanda but helped perpetuate the White/Black tensions while the non whites were doing most of the fighting. Very intriguing and boring interaction between the unimaginative action scenes.
I thought how the writers tried to expand the reach of the franchise from a black superhero to Latin American very novel. I also find it interesting that this angle did not make into any of the movie marketing.
Anyway, I am glad I waited to see this movie on Disney+
