I really enjoyed these books as a child, although I think I only read 4 of them. I liked the contrast of Veronica’s life in London to that of the time she spent in Northumberland. I liked the theme of success over adversity- she has to overcome bereavement and disinterested relatives before succeeding as a dancer.

A good storyline. It’s been years since I read this book, but intend to do so again. Very similar style to Rosumund Pilcher ( the author’s mother) whose books I’ve always loved. I liked the way he dealt with the emotions of a grieving family and the healing that occurred during David’s stay on Long Island. A very enjoyable read.
