Fond of watching shows and movies based on real-life stories, I was curious to see this series, more so as I remembered following the developments of the actual incident until it got wrapped up.
The series came as a very disappointing portrayal of terrorists who were shown to have a more humane side than a normal Indian...catering for the veg meals in Afghanistan.. offering a piece of cloth to the air hostess when she is throwing up.. etc etc
Terrorists were depicted as soft-hearted polite people who just wanted to get their man.. someone's brother..someone's son.. released from the prison.
The gruesome act of slitting the throat of a newly wed passenger was covered by their attempt to get him aid..
Instead, the RAW agents were shown as much brutal and in a more negative light.
Also, the authorities were shown to be having fun.. sharing jokes and samosas.. as if they weren't bothered at all..
The codenames could be anything but were chosen as Bhola and Shankar to send a wrong message to the naive people of the nation.
Also, not to miss.. at the airport.. one of the terrorists was shown flashing his diplomatic immunity or ID card.. but the security personnels were too busy having fun to even glance at him..
These are just a few of the many many subtle but impressionable wrong messages sent through this agenda-driven series..
Even as fictional work it would have been wrong to display such false projections..
And here they have played so heavily with the sentiments of Indians.. claiming it to be based on a real tragic and brutal event which shook the country to its core and continues to send it's aftereffects..
People in production need to know that we Indians are not ignorant fools they can sell any BS to..They need to be careful of what they are doing thr.. We are watching through them via their shows!
