While the visuals are amazing, most of the movie relies more on the effects rather than how it affects you. The characters are confusing as they appear to be mediocre, act stupid, but should be inherently smart. The feat is seen towards the end when the spotlight rests on the true hero of games: its creator. It is only in the end that we realize that this is a story not about kids who play games rather about the creator that made a whole new world for these kids to play on.
