For Sonic fans, I'm not so sure, especially since I didn't get into the games. But it definitely has a different theme/tone from the rest of the Sonic cinematic universe so far. 2 episodes don't even have Knuckles in it, and the series was overshadowed by human characters. It is more "for the kids," having a few cringy moments and slang, but you can see what they're trying to do here. They also expand on G.U.N's lore, which I like. I don't believe you have to watch this to understand the cinematic universe of Sonic or anything like that... but if you just want to turn your brain off and watch something that satiates your inner child, or a fan of Sonic, or just want to see some more movie content, then i'd give it a go.
