The Great pretender was pretty good up until season 2 or the 4th act. Season 1 was genuinely interesting act 1-3 was well written and actually decent in my opinion. Until I watched the final act, act 4, I was disappointed especially in the last 2 episodes.
SPOILERS!!!
The final episodes was disappointing because it just didn't make sense, it would've made sense if Makoto just left the con right there and then or even make him a sort of antagonist of the show. He had all the right reasons to have left especially since he knew that we was just being used ESPECIALLY since Laurent had the greatest idea to fake the death of Cynthia and Abigail and even his father making it seem like it was his fault they were dead. It didn't make sense in the slightest. On top of that Makoto's idea of revenge was to do a messed up prank? And then all was fine?
Bringing back the antagonist of act 1-3 also did NOT make sense in the slightest. I don't know why they just ditched all the character development of those characters and it also seemed like they were rich again? What was even the point of bringing them back. What was the point of the 3 acts even.
The part where Dorothy was revealed to be actually alive was also VERYYY disappointing it would've been better if she actually just stayed 6 feet deep in the water or something. I also don't get what was the reason to be bringing her back from the dead?
Anyways that's all I can say, very just disappointed to say the least. The show just depleted in quality. The show almost landed but missed the mark by 1000 points and it's so excruciatingly painful for how much potential it could've had.
