Colin McCullough

I’ve read a few of Coben’s books and always find myself having a blast. He’s a real page turning, beach read kind of an author. The plots tend to move very quickly and are often very twisty. They’re also quite forgettable. I’ve found myself completely forgetting the plot only a few weeks later. But that’s ok. His books aren’t meant to rock my core and challenge my world view. His books are fun. And this series is too. Yes, the plot is kind of outrageous and the characters a bit flat. But whatever. If you want a fun binge, check this one out. Bonus points too that this is in NJ. His novels take place there but all the tv series I’ve seen adapted from them are European. I believe this is his first that takes place in the Garden State. As a native New Jerseyan I’ve always appreciated how his love for the state comes through in his work.

Started off as a really fun watch. Great characters, cool concept. At first it felt twisty and suspenseful but that started to fade a bit toward the later episodes. It also had some plot holes - such as thirty years missing from the story. But the ending was strong. I liked the actors. Love some of the characters. I’d stick with it if there was a season 2.
