Christopher Amer

My father was "Daddy" Amer and a pilot for COPP 6. The book is really well written and followed the development of the secret force in the early years of WWII that pioneered the concept of actually reconnoitering enemy held beaches to allow Allied invasion forces advanced knowledge of what the troops were getting into, includind hidden shoals that would strand landing craft offshore and whether there were actual exits from the beaches.. My Dad used to tell me of their exploits when I was a kid, and I was always intrigued by his waterproof suit that he used during their operations. It hung in our basement for years. It is a great read. I am really surprised that it has not been dramatized in a movie or mini-series.
