This is an excellent Action RomCom. Lots of Action and fun, good twist to old formula. Never mundane or woke, just good escapism👍😎

Mel Brooks provides the narrators voice throughout these 8 episodes. Mel is a living comedy godfather whom I adore, but thankfully the writing and most everything else has been left to a much younger crowd. With the “history of man” as a loose unifying idea, these 25 minute episodes were a breath of fresh air. Old school comedy with a few SNL style skits thrown in. Sure it’s vulgar, and hilariously so. The in-joke that Alexander Graham Bell’s assistant plays on the inventor is comedy gold. I read some poo pooey negative reviews by others. I have little understanding of their criticisms. They clearly can’t take a joke? Don’t believe them. Watch the first episode and judge, as always, for yourselves.

Good enough to help me to forgive the dodgy chapters in the wonderful Indiana Jones films. I finally saw it on Disney and regret not seeing it on a bigger screen. The Dial stays true to the enduring legacy of this great character but omits the campiness of Temple of Doom. No mining carts leaping from track-to-track but all the Action Movie cards get played well. I’d read tame reviews which I now find strange. The computer de-ageing didn’t bother me and I loved the classic location hopping & riddle solving. Spielberg makes sure plenty of Nazis get taken down hard regardless of where they are in time and space. The Dial is a worthy bookend to this beloved franchise. Raiders of the Lost Ark now has a strong closer to respectfully wrap things up.👍

Soft and manipulative. Like marshmallows

It’s trying and mostly succeeding to deliver the goods. But at its most pale it’s still relevant to me in these nutty times.

I felt that the film relied too heavily on Smiths music. It has to be used more sparingly i think. Otherwise there was little to make me care about the characters or their night out. Im a massive fand of the band. Peace

6 episodes totalling approximately 2 hrs kick off season one. It’s one of the few shows I’ve seen that embraces modern life so well. Highs and lows punctuate the drama as the two “females” fall in love. Nothing new about the premise just the way it’s all put together. Season Two has recently wrapped principal photography. Season one premiered in the Uk on March 18th and proved a worthy and welcome distraction from Lockdown. Check it out, it’s hot😎

I watched it because it was on! The Guardian reviewer said it was Python meets GOT. I think that pretty much sums it up. Quite strange and certainly not interested in the diversity bandwagon.

This Anti-plot catastrophe has pushed its luck. I thought the opening episode could have packed more punch to establish its world and by ep 3 it was sliding South fast. Instead of a straightforward narrative the writers chose to build the story through episodes that suspend the story arc and explore side stories. I don’t condemn this decision, it could have worked fine, but it pulls the whole experience apart too much for me. Those who disagree, and there’s plenty, argue that these side stories are beautifully wrought with tender subject matter and terrific acting. The show is reasonably well shot but doesn’t deserve cinematography awards and in no way does it offer anything we haven’t seen over & over again. I enjoyed the game much more than the failed experiment that is the TV show.
