I don't usually right reviews but some alleged "Indian movie critics" have either on purpose given a poor review or than they cannot appreciate a good low budget, understated supernatural flick. And so I have given it 5 stars but it probably deserves 4.
SPOILERS BELOW
The story pivots on a spirit possession and a ghost trying to avenge their murderer. There are secrets stemming from irresponsible behaviour..as those secrets surface so does the price for redemption....does it work out for our 2 main characters, one the police officer investigating the disappearance of the other characters husband?
A good story line, Good performance. The characterization could have been better....the psychiatrist for example came across at times untrained and unprofessional (not counting the affair with her patient). That was very poor...UNLESS her being a bad Dr. and/or not a very nice person was the reason she married an ageing hospital owner.
There should have been more internal dialogue and flashbacks to give that personality to characters, especially the Sadhu I would have liked to have seen 10mins more on his story. The cause of the husbands death should also have been explained...maybe he had a supernatural story of his own.
Cinematography could have been better.
I was glad to see Kulkarni, knew it would be a good film and it was.
it could have been slicker but it was slick enough, no unnecessary screaming, shouting, blood or gore...just a good story with complexities as it unfolds...the final twist comes from wondering whether the psychiatrists disloyalty towards the other character comes from revenge or justice...
