I just watched this movie for the second time. The first time was when it was originally released. I wouldn’t call this moving entertaining. All I can say is that I find it a hard movie to watch. It’s a movie that stirs deep, intense feelings in me. The film has no hero, but a Christ figure. You know what always happens. That person always pays for everyone else’s sins. When the film ends, I’m filled with a deep anger toward most of the main characters. I wanna dump them all into the Mystic. This film displays something I’ve long believed. Weak people are exponentially more dangerous than evil people. An evil person, truly evil, is an anomaly of humanity. They stick out like sore thumbs. But weak people, those that have no principles and would sell out their mothers to save themselves, are everywhere. They’re in our families. They’re our co-workers. They Even among our friends. That’s the reality this film is about. It’s true but it’s hard to watch.
