Sure, it's aesthetically pleasing with an interesting story concept and has lore that's relatively easy to latch onto... but the main turn-off for me was the combat mechanics. It feels clunky. Like DS2 jank. A lot of the enemy attacks have a ridiculous reach (despite dodging away a fair distance) and parry windows are inconsistent at best. While I can appreciate the variety of weaponry and how it pushes you to adapt and pace your swings, it feels like certain weapons are just too slow and not worth the time. I REALLY want to like this game, but it's hard to enjoy it when every battle feels like an aneurysm waiting to happen.
