Having voted as a registered Republican since 1980, I very much appreciate the approach that Joe, Mika and Willy take in their critical probe into the time of Trump. When D. J. Trump came down the escalator, trophy wife before him like an object to be admired, I thought that scene was a publicity stunt. When he won the nomination to run for president, I smelled a dictator on the wing. Now that we know the truth; i.e., that being the biggest boss in the world was his only desire, those of us who claim to be conservative Republicans must begin to answer important questions for ourselves and our fellow citizens; to wit, what is it that we aim to conserve? Is it white supremacy or responsibility; fiscal austerity or hoarding wealth at the expense of those of us who are not wealthy; fascist nationalism or the continued nurture of democracy? Morning Joe has led the way in showing us that "small government" means local government stitched together into federal under the rule of law, not of one megalomaniac.
