CONS: I’d give this show a zero if I could. Lacks diversity, history, and stereotypical. And it’s NOT PG-13. Purple is supposed to reflect more on how black people were treated back in the day and Cecile’s story of her life. Instead this was just a mess to me. There’s one scene when the women are putting their behinds in a males private area- Go watch Purple in 1985 or anything else. The music was nice but it felt more like a musical. At first I was confused about God and flowers but I understood in the end of the show. But what lacks meaning is the inappropriate scenes in between. Just because this movie has a lot of black people that doesn’t mean it’s a good movie. And I wish if they’d stop making men look like the main villains. No, for a fact I know that’s not how all men treated woman even today. White men in this movie were light not discriminating cause this is supposed to be about “black people” but it’s more focused on Cecile life that’s why it gives a bad look for black men being the only abusers in the movie. PROS: There are funny moments, mostly when the black folks would be their enthusiasm or the context in the moment is funny. Other than that it’s not educational it’s more of a movie to burst some laughter at. If you want laughter, good music, or some woman to gaze upon? Watch this version. But educational and CHILD APPROPRIATE go watch something else! 1 out 5!
