This book is a charming collection of short stories about the various antics of computer nerds in the early days of Silicon Valley.
There are many characters introduced throughout the book, allowing the reader to get a glimpse of the diversity among the nerd community. Many aspects of the computer nerd culture are revealed in this book, most importantly their habit of giving each other nicknames instead of using their real names.
Each story in this book is brief but clever, always ending in a some sort of twist. Some of my favorite stories in this book are Two-Headed Nerd, Wings and Water, Management, and Lucky Snake.
My only qualms with this book are the foul language used and immoral lifestyles portrayed, which are definitely more prevalent in some of the stories than others. This is a book written for adults, and it’s a great book, but I would definitely encourage discernment when reading it. As long as you enter with a mindset of wisdom, this book is very enjoyable and provides great insight into life in Silicon Valley.
