Hands down the worst Assassin's Creed I have ever played. The franchise has taken a drastic fall from its former gameplay. Where to begin on the many problems with this game and the franchise as a whole. Every new release seems to only become worse than the last. I continued to play in hopes that this time would be better, but I continued to be disappointed and frustrated. I have lost complete hope in the franchise.
My biggest disappointment is in the movement mechanics. There is a lack of anticipation for the next move. I often find myself falling off a building or on the wrong ledge. The game will glitch, and I will find myself lodged between a wall, forced to restart from the last save.
The combat is a problem as the combatants will engage immediately after completing a takedown with no way to block. The removal of the multi. kill system enables prolonged boring combat. There is also no risk of desynchronization. I find myself strolling through the game wondering what is the point in being stealthy which is the entire point of the game.
What I hate most about this game and the latest installments is the power ups for weapons and armor. The items used to require funds that required grinding for funds. Now there are symatics that require small puzzles to unlock. The small puzzles are often time consuming a simple. The issues is you have to scan a building multiple times to figure out the puzzle.
I find myself reminiscing of the former puzzles that were not placed all over the game but, while a chore, was very rewarding in the end. These puzzles were long labyrinths that unlocked the best gear as a reward. Today's puzzles are unrewarding, and you often ask, "Why did it bother?"
